Grounding Earthing Benefits & Why It’s Necessary:
We have at some point all used the idea that someone is a well grounded individual. They seem to have their feet planted firmly in the earth unlike those of us who daydream and frequently fly off elsewhere. Saying that someone is grounded can seem like a physical thing but it can also be seen as they have themselves firmly planted in this reality.
In fact the term can mean just this, that your consciousness is firmly attached to your physical body in the here and now even while you are still a spiritual being. When we work on any spiritual kind of activity a good grounding is important so that you are protected from anything you might encounter on a spirit level. Activities like Astral Projection, Remote Viewing, Healing Work like Reiki, and even just reading tarot cards can have their dangers and grounding yourself beforehand and after can be an added safety measure.
What Are The Benefits & Uses Of Grounding / Earthing?
Grounding is often seen as creating a white light around yourself to act as a shield; this light keeps us protected from any entities that might try and interfere with our connection to the physical body while we are working in the spirit realm.
==> The purpose of grounding is to make sure you remain present in the now rather than becoming lost elsewhere while away from your body within the spirit realm. It can have many other benefits as well as uses.
==> Other uses of grounding can be encouraged in daily life to achieve better control over psychic abilities and their uses by promoting greater consciousness in the psychics actions.
==> Grounding also can make us feel more balanced; having a firmer connection to the earth makes us feel more confident and sure footed because we are more aware of where we are and what is going on.
==> This greater connection to the earth plane can in turn affect our psychic abilities by giving us a better base to leave and return to. By having a stronger base we can attain higher spiritual levels and create a stronger bridge between ourselves in the spirit world and the physical one.
==> Here is another benefit of grounding. For those who are not well grounded even some physical activities may leave them feeling odd. Frequent dizziness, daydreaming, or a general feeling of being “spaced out” can all indicate that you are not firmly grounded in the here and now and are taking unnecessary risks entering the spirit world this way.
==> Did you know that falling asleep when meditating is also a sign that your earthing connection is weak and not necessarily that you need sleep? When we meditate we enter the energy realm while conscious and if that consciousness is not rooted into the physical firmly it can also begin to take off with us causing our spirit body to start dreaming and potentially enter the astral realm fully.
==> Without a good earthing if you are trying to astral project or lucidly dream you will experience great difficulty in doing so because your astral self is not well earthed and without a good grounding you will have trouble in your waking life too.
Difference Between Grounding & Earthing:
A common question in the area seems to be what is the difference between earthing and grounding. In fact the two are one and the same; it is simply a matter of how you look at the process. For those who approach the process:
Grounding means that the live soul is connected to the earth consciously without any power involved. It is a conscious neutral process without any energy currents being exchanged between the earth and soul.
Earthing in comparison means that the physical level is physically connected to the earth. It may not seem so different and merely a matter of American syntax to some but in a small variety of writings is can be a slightly different term.
Earthing is used more to describe the physical process of being grounded – namely having your feet firmly on the ground in a physical sense though the process itself is really two sides of the same coin.
We have to understand that we are doing both simultaneously for it to be successful and solidly done.
Earthing – refers to the physical process of being attached to the earth
How Is Grounding & Earthing Conducted?
There are several ways that people practice earthing and grounding themselves before and after using psychic abilities. Visualization is by far the most popular technique.
1.] Tree Roots:
When we think of an item that is solidly rooted to the earth it can be that literal. Tree roots are the most common visualization used for grounding purposes. Before beginning any psychic activity breathe deeply several times until you feel more balanced, imagine roots growing down your legs and feet and digging themselves firmly into the ground. Make sure these are thick and solid like the roots of a tree, let them grow as deep as you need so that you feel solidly attached to the ground.
2.] White Light & Bubble Surrounding You:
As mentioned before the other grounding visualization is to surround yourself in white light. This method is what I prefer and practice. In your minds eye see yourself and your aura of energy surrounding you. Feel Source Energy flowing around you and through you and through your chakras. Imagine the energy of Source as it should be, pure love, as a warm white light. Take that light and create a bubble around yourself. Different people visualize this different ways but most will either create the bubble and step into it or build it up around themselves. Either technique works as long as the white light shield is solid and you feel protected when you are done.
You may also visualize both of the above methods. Use the white light to crisscross the roots and connect you firmly to the earth so that you can have both a physical and spiritual (grounding and earthing) connection before you begin your work. Using this process afterward can then help you reconnect to the physical realm if you feel disorientated.
We may experience feelings of being “spaced out” if we are not well connected to the physical plain. It is important to have an understanding of both, grounding and earthing, when performing spirit work for greatest success. The most common visualizations for grounding and earthing are tree roots and white light as they offer the strongest connection and greatest protection of that connection. The visualization process is easy to do and is usually performed before and after spiritual activities.
