What is the Daisy Pond Exercise?
With our hectic modern lives many people have trouble finding time to relax and unwind, it always seems like there are too few minutes in the day, too few hours a week to simply let the daily stress go. So many are now being treated for overwork and stress because of this, and yet more do not realize how much damage they are doing simply by stressing out over things and not relaxing. One of the most obvious problems that overstress can cause is sleep issues and millions suffer with insomnia due to stress which in turn adds more stress to their waking lives.
At least 20 million people deal with sleep disorders and almost a quarter of that is due to stress alone. The Daisy Pond Exercise is a relaxation method that can help with peaceful, restful sleep that combats stress and will leave you refreshed and replenished afterward. The Daisy Pond Exercise has been used for many years by people for relaxation purposes and is now even available here that users can download and listen to as they sleep. It is just part of a whole program called Quantum Jumping.
The Daisy Pond Exercise is a meditation technique that will leave you totally relaxed. Many expect meditation to simply be sitting quietly and chanting “Om” repeatedly but there so many other alternative methods that people successfully use it would be silly to limit it to just that one. The Daisy Pond Exercise uses guided meditation and visualization to bring about relaxation, taking the meditator on a journey from their conscious waking self and lowering their brainwave pattern until they are at a healing level. Visualization is a powerful technique, it is used by many for processes above and beyond relaxation but always with great success.
How does the Daisy Pond Exercise work?
As with any meditation technique the Daisy Pond Exercise requires a few minutes of your time devoted to nothing but relaxation. It is important that you clear your mind and focus during that time so that you can achieve relaxation, obviously it would be impossible to fully relax while having half your thoughts on bills and other conscious problems. The process lasts approximately 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your version of the audio companion.
You can find simple Daisy Pond Exercise audio on YouTube or you can get the official version from the creator Burt Goldman which you can check out here.
The daisy pond is a visualized place where you can really relax, it is meant to be a destination reached through meditation where you can forget life’s cares. It is best to complete the exercise laying down somewhere quiet, take a few breaths until you feel settled and try and clear your mind. The meditation begins by imagining your hand is stuck to whatever it is resting on, act like you cannot move it because it is stuck and imagine wholly that it is stuck.
Visualize your hand being stuck and once you are confident that you could not move it if you tried you know your visualization skills are working. Continue meditating until you cannot move the hand because you really believe it is stuck. Now believe that it is no longer stuck and lift the hand.
Imagine you are on a stairway of about 15 steps that leads to a doorway which leads out to the daisy pond. This pond has lots of vegetation and flowers, the sky is blue and the sun is warm. In the middle of the pond is a giant daisy that you can lie in, when you lie in the daisy you can feel how soft it is and how gently it holds you. Walk down the stairs slowly towards the doorway, imagine each step and listen to your meditator as they count you down to the doorway.
Open the door and watch the door opening until it stands wide open and you can see the daisy pond. Focus on walking slowly towards the pond, imagine lily pads leading to the daisy in the middle, you can either project yourself into the daisy or walk across these lily pads into the daisy. Imagine yourself sitting in the daisy, feel how soft it is and how gently it holds you as you relax onto its petals. Imagine the warm sunlight and blue skies as you relax. Sit up and ease yourself onto one of the petals and slide into the warm gentle water. Imagine floating in the restoring water and feel them caressing you. You can swim here or just relax and float. Imagine breathing in the sweet scent of the water and healing you from the inside. Dive under the surface of the pond and imagine what you can find there, you don’t have to worry about breathing underwater.
Take a deep breathe and feel the water flowing through you to your very cells. Let the water wash away any stress until it flows easily through you. You may surface and climb back onto the daisy. Imagine laying on the daisy again and relaxing, feel your breathing and begin to count backwards from 15, slowly feeling the daisy change to the surface that you were laying on before. Do not open your eyes until you reach one, but continue to become more aware of the space around your physical body as you count backwards. Once you have reached one you may open your eyes and you should be thoroughly relaxed.
