My Fascinating Attempts To Have Successful Out Of Body Experiences & Astral Projections:
I was looking for a quick successful method for astral projection and having an out of body experience. From the trials I have run, I can say the Monroe Technique works (learn here). Like most people, I knew the barrier of fear was keeping me from astral projecting properly every time I tried. What kind of fear you ask? About coming across negative entities and in turn being harmed or not being able to return back from the astral plane. Of course, it’s easy to tell someone not to be afraid but when one actually takes the plunge to astral project, the fear returns. I tried talking myself out of the fear and visualizing it away but it barely worked for me. I then came across an interesting study carried out by The Canterbury Institute that involved two thousand participants. What intrigued me was that the whole lot neither complained of any problems immediately after the testing and neither after three years. There are no documented cases (and trust me, there would be if that were true) on anything going awry with astral projection. Being possessed by evil spirits is nothing to worry about when it comes to astral projection either. How about the fact that many believe that every single night when we dream we are actually having an out of body experience (OBE)? Anyway, fear and nightly dreams aside, I moved on to study the Monroe Astral Projection Technique, one step at a time.
Monroe Astral Projection Technique Steps:
Here I will out line the process of using this technique. They say that relaxing, physically & mentally, completely is an absolute necessity if you want any technique, leave alone the Monroe Technique to work when trying out astral projection. You will be deliberately inducing vibrations (light shaking/electric energy movements through body etc) and using great focus & concentration during the following steps:
Monroe Technique Step 1-Progressive Muscle Relaxation Technique:
I would recommend at this stage to use the Progressive Muscle Relaxation Technique which is simple as a deep breathing where you go something like, Inhale 1 and Exhale 2, followed by Inhale 3, proceeding up onwards to 50 or 100. This might seem to take a long time but personally it has worked for me. The time you take to relax is crucial in the astral projection success rate.
Monroe Technique Step 2-Entering Hypnagogic State / Condition A:
This is the interesting part because you have reached the ideal state where you can easily enter the state that borders sleep known as the Hypnagogic State. Like many people, this is a tricky situation because you don’t want to fall asleep but barely hit that spot before sleep. So at this point I would suggest you try out the following technique. Make sure that you raise and hold up your arm just enough that if you feel the urge to sleep, your arm will fall and you will wake up. After a couple of trials, you will catch yourself automatically and then be able to control yourself from falling the sleep, thereby entering the Hypnagogic State at will. I have read in some sources that teach one to concentrate on a chosen object so that when thoughts interfere with the process, you don’t necessarily shun them as we learn in meditation. Instead we watch and observe without participating as these images float BY, and this helps us maintain the near sleep state / Hypnagogic State. What you have now mastered is, Condition A, important part of the Monroe Technique.
Monroe Technique Step 3 – Light Patterns In Condition B:
Moving on now, we need to go deeper and deeper into this near sleep state and you do this by first beginning to empty your mind and observing your field of vision keeping your eyes closed throughout. At this stage, you are simply looking into the darkness with your eyes closed. This might sound a tad weird but there’s a reason for doing this. With intense concentration at this stage, you will begin to see beautiful light patterns and don’t worry, having been through this myself, it is not just harmless but intensely relaxing. That is my personal experience and I have dug deeper into finding out what these are and realized these are simple neural discharges that have no specific purpose or effect and should just be ignored. Then, after these light patterns trickle to an end, you have begun the Condition B stage of the Monroe Technique.
Monroe Technique Step 4-Deeper States Of Relaxation During Condition C & Condition D:
After this you simply move on to deeper relaxation stages, from Condition C to Condition D. What is Condition C? It’s simply a relaxation state where you lose all awareness of your body. This is an awkward state to be in if you ask me as it’s almost like the only stimulation will be the thoughts crossing your mind while you are void of any other sensory stimulation. What is Condition D? After being completely rested you will be able to carry out this successfully otherwise you will just drift off to sleep in complete fatigue. Once you are refreshed, you can voluntarily induce Condition C to evolve into Condition D which is the best astral projection or OBE / out of body experience state.
