Monroe Technique Step 5-Vibration State
Now that we have covered the very basic steps of the Monroe Technique, we will progress to the more important parts of the technique in part 2 here. You will now be entering into a Vibration State. This is significant because many astral projectors report this to be the sign that your astral body is not prepared to leave the physical body. If you had to ask me what this State Of Vibrations feels like, I would have to say it is a combination of deliciousness that encompasses a rush of energy felt pacing through your entire body with tingling sensations and this electric state is just the ultimate stage of uber-relaxation one can experience. I’m not entirely sure if this Step 5 is the same as hitting Theta while meditating but the sensations are awfully similar to say the least. You don’t even need anyone to tell you what it is like as you will immediately just know you have reached Stage 5. Since this is clearly not as easy for everyone, I am going to compile below a list of suggestions that will help you hit this state easily.
OBE Tips & Tricks
Immerse yourself into a dark room so that your eyes can shut out all light making it easier for you to concentrate. Make sure the room temperature is just right for you. This is crucial because many times when the room gets too cold it severely interrupts the process for me. Lying down is much better than sitting so try lying along a north south axis with your head pointing in the magnetic north direction. Now as you enter a deep state of relaxation, remind yourself that you will remember as many details as you can so that the next trials get easier. You could try affirming this by saying it to yourself a couple of times. You can say anything to the effect of remembering every conscious perception that you encountered throughout your entire OBE / Astral Projection AND recalling it in great detail once you finish your session.
As for breathing techniques, I have found that keeping your mouth slightly open where your lips don’t touch is ideal. I first learned this thanks to Steve G. Jones and this is monumental for me, you know why? Because no one else, no one, ever taught me this technique. And such a small improvement just on how to breathe correctly with your lips slightly apart made a huge difference. Here starts the real work. What you will need to do from now is ‘thought control‘. You should concentrate well. Start by concentrating on the void straight ahead of you while you continue breathing. This basically means you have to observe your field of vision with your eyes still shut but focusing on the blackness you see with your closed eyes.
Pick a point that in line with your forehead and then move this point to 3 feet and then onto 6 feet. After this you will rotate the chosen point 90 degrees upward. To make this easier, imaging yourself where you draw an imaginary line. This line should be parallel to your body axis ensuring it is above your head. Now once you’ve hit this point, keep focusing on it and here it can get tricky. You need to imagine you are reaching out to this point and grabbing the vibrations from this point. You will then need to visualize bringing these collected point vibrations and putting them into yourself. I found it extremely interesting how Robert Monroe put this stage across. You should experience somewhat of a soft whistle, gushing or outpouring and a steady pulse of flickers and glimmers that will speed out to you towards your forehead, after which you will physically feel the sensations like you cannot move. I think fundamentally this is correct but it varies from person to person. It doesn’t have to go by the book for you. These are just signs to watch out for to know if you are on the right track or not.
Perfecting Monroe Technique Step 5 To Finally Have An Out Of Body Experience / Astral Projection:
The trick in perfecting Step 5 is polishing your Vibration State skills and what I mean by that is, you play with the vibrations like it’s play dough and you are molding it in any shape and form. Try various things such as pushing the vibrations away from your forehead or making the vibrations travel from the top of your head to your toes. You are in control and you should master the art of control these vibrations. Imagine there is a special electricity pacing through your body and you are an expert able to move this energy up and down your body in any way you see fit. Of course, its not easy at first but you get better as you practice. Ultimately, your goal should be that you can induce these vibration states on command and control them any way.
Once you get a hang of this, you are at that state where you can experience a successful out of body experience. After this, you will attempt something called a “partial separation” whereby you keep yourself intensely focused and concentrating on the thought of “I will leave my body now!” as if its a constant repetition and you are going to do it no matter what. It is very important at this stage that you have firm control over stray thoughts that cross your mind because you can easily lose focus if you get distracted after all this hard work of reaching this stage.
If you are successful till here, you are almost done because now you can start extending out, so to say, parts of your “second body” such as your arms or your legs, almost like you are gradually entering one body part at a time very slowly. I learned a trick here where you try to reach out to a familiar item around you like a lamp on your bedside table but of course, you are doing so, while using your “second body”, not your “physical body”. Your physical body lays still and relaxed the entire time. After touching the item, you simply push that part of your body that you used to touch the item and then simply return the body part back to where it was. You have to then reduce the Vibrational Rate like you are turning down the volume of the radio and at this point you can cease the trick you just learned. This is just practice meant to reinforce every further attempt you make at a full body separation.
Out Of Body Experience – Body Dissociation:
There are 2 ways of going about this.
Lift Out Technique (Above & Up Method):
One is to imagine lifting your body up and out where you think of yourself getting lighter and lighter upon initiating the Vibrational Stage. Focus on this with positive thoughts, perhaps by saying to yourself how much you enjoy and how it feels so good to just float above and up. Also make sure no other distracting thoughts divert your attention at this stage. You will finally achieve your out of body experience (OBE).
Rotation or Roll Out Method:
While the operative word in the first method was UP, here think “ROLL”. Again I remind you that all these motions are not conducted by your physical body but by your “second body”, the body you use for your out of body experience and astral projection. Using this method is simple as well. You just say to yourself “I will now roll over” imaging as if you are slowly rising from your bed just enough to twist your body, turn it and pounce into your “second body” signifying that you have now left the physical body and have now entered the “second body”. Just think about the movement you make when you wake up and get out of bed in the morning. Instead of rolling over, getting up and walking away from your bed, you are rolling over, slightly getting up and then POUNCE, right into your astral body.
Personally the “Roll Out Technique” (Rotation Method) works much better for me. For some strange reason the simple movement and repetition of just floating above is not as easy for me as for others. Don’t take my word for it though as many find the former, Lift Out Technique, much more effective. That is why I suggest you try out many techniques and pick the one most easiest and comfortable for your tastes.
Using The Monroe Technique For Astral Projection & Out Of Body Experiences:
So what is it like? Trying out the Monroe Technique is almost like a Visualization + Vibrations exercise. It sounds complicated and is hard to master the first couple of times but as with anything worth experiencing, the more you practice, the more effortless it comes to you. It is now second nature for me to OBE or astral project because I sacrificed watching TV shows, going out with friends and wasting time on Facebook. I’m not saying you should give up on anything to become an expert but what can you skip today in your schedule to make time for practicing. You can’t expect to become an expert piano player without daily hard work and practice, why should this be any different. A whole new world(s) lay ahead in front of you and you are so close to getting there. Try the Monroe Technique and if you still feel like you just can’t astral project or have an out of body experience, then use The Art of Astral Projection, which was my first exercise book that taught me the basics I needed to know. The beauty of this course is eventually you can start studying the advanced topics too because the Art of Astral Projection is HUGE. When you open it you are bound to get seriously overwhelmed.
